This large church located in Hempstead, New York recently sustained severe loss and damages as a result of frozen pipe breaks and subsequent water damage. Among the damage to the property was multiple pipe breaks in the plumbing and sprinkler system, water damage to the plaster ceilings and walls, wet insulation, ceiling grid system, water damaged electrical, carpet damage, damage to the upholstered pews, and severe damage to the churches digital music soundboard and orchestra system.
Tutwiler & Associates was called in to help with public adjuster Frank Fortson taking the lead and his team of experts was quick to respond. Tutwiler made multiple thorough inspections of the property, documented all water related damages, coordinated with restoration vendors, and tirelessly negotiated with the insurance company adjuster to replace many of the water damaged building components, which the company adjuster battled to “clean” and “save.” This allowed the Pastor to remain focused on running the day to day affairs of the church.
Tutwiler was able to successfully negotiate a substantial settlement in a timely manner much to the satisfaction to the churches Board of Directors. Thankfully, this church was smart enough to have secured adequate building and personal property coverage which was sufficient enough to cover the cost of repairs as well as their emergency service bill.
