Lawmakers to tackle Florida’s property insurance crisis (baynews9.com)
As legislators attempt to reform and bailout the Florida property insurance market, ask yourself this:
Is the policyholder, property owner being put first?
Is there any guarantee in the legislation that rates will come down?
Are poor claims handling practices, delalys, denials, sloppy managed contractor work, undocumented damage and indside claims meddling being addressed?
Are the insurance carriers claim handlers being put under the same scrutiny as attorneys, contractors and public adjusters?
Are policy coverages and protections being further erroded?
Is the legislation making it easier for the policyholder to prove damages and recoup losses under their policy?
No one will argue that insurance reform that levels the playing field, fights fraund and abuse and protects the policyholder is needed. Unfortunately, what we are seeing develop is far from the reality of what we see in the field everyday.
