Helping People Rebuild, One Story at a Time
Hear from people we’ve helped navigate insurance claims and get the settlements they deserved.
Tommy Southworth
President & COO, Southworth Development
“Without your professional expertise we, we would not have known how to assemble our claim or properly document it, nor would we have known what to ask for. Your efforts resulted in an outcome that not only justified your fee, but more importantly helped us to recover and keep positive momentum.”
Anne M
President, Boca Grande Club Condominium Phase I
“I was completely overwhelmed after Hurricane Ian caused extensive damage to our condominium buildings. Dealing with insurance companies on my own seemed impossible, especially given the two separate buildings and the complex insurance claims process […] I couldn’t be happier with their services and would highly recommend them to anyone in need.”
Jim Smith
Commercial Fire Claim
“With regard to our commercial fire loss, the initial settlement offer from our insurer was not made in good faith considering that we had already spent almost that amount securing the building and extracting water and smoke from a fire. After Tutwiler assumed negotiations with the insurer, our final settlement represented a whopping 650% increase.”
Lakhbir Hayre
Condominium Water Damage Claim
“Thank you for your outstanding work in helping us obtain proper compensation for the water damage that occured at our condominium in Sarasota. […] Your knowledge of how the process worked, your experience, attention to detail and general overall expertise were stellar and made a huge difference to the outcome.”

FAQ
Find answers to common questions about public adjusters and their services.
When should I hire a public adjuster?
It’s best to involve a public adjuster as early in the claims process as possible. We are trained to review and understand insurance policy language and can help identify additional coverages you might otherwise miss. You should especially consider hiring one if you don’t have time to deal with your insurer, don’t understand your policy, have extensive or complicated damage, receive a quick payoff offer, or feel the carrier’s settlement is inadequate.
How does the claim representation process work?
Public Adjuster works on your behalf throughout the insurance claims process. We review your insurance policy to determine available coverages, inspect and document the damage, and prepare detailed estimates to support your claim. We then submit and manage the claim while communicating directly with the insurance company. Our role includes negotiating the settlement to help ensure you receive what you are entitled to under your policy.
Who does a public adjuster represent?
A public adjuster represents the policyholder, not the insurance company. Unlike the insurance company’s adjuster, who works for the insurer, a public adjuster works exclusively in your interest. Our responsibility is to advocate for you and help ensure your claim is properly prepared and presented.
Can making repairs hurt my insurance claim?
After experiencing property damage, it’s completely normal to want to fix things right away. Don’t make permanent or emergency repairs until you or an adjuster have documented the damage.
Your policy does require you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage(such as covering a roof or stopping a leak) but avoid permanent repairs until the damage has been properly documented.
Also, keep any damaged materials until they’ve been seen by the adjuster. Disposing of items too soon can sometimes create unnecessary questions about your claim.
The key is simple: document first, then mitigate. Taking a little extra time upfront can help protect your claim and give you greater peace of mind during the process.
