On April 20, 2009 a water pipe burst in this upscale custom home located in South Tampa, Florida. The ensuing damages consisted of ruined bamboo flooring, drywall, hardwood base mouldings, and personal property items. After suffering through many months of insurance company delay and an unacceptable settlement offer, the insured decided to retain the professional services of a public insurance adjuster based upon the recommendation of a friend who had endured a similar situation when he suffered a fire loss in a year prior in downtown Tampa.
Rick Tutwiler who initially spoke with the homeowner right after the loss, instructed him to call should the claim turn south. It did. After eight more grueling months of intense negotiation and insurance company delay, Mr. Tutwiler was able to recover in excess of $25,000.00 in additional money for the insured dealing with an in-house claims supervisor.
