I’m sad to report that an insurance industry veteran Tom O’Connor passed away. Tom was President of the OConnor Company an independent claims adjusting firm. Tom was an experienced and highly respected I/A.
Tom and I were friends and I always enjoyed working with him. A great guy, always fair, very knowledgeable and we had a lot of fun working on losses together. He used to call me the black hat guy and I always reminded him that in fact I was the one who had the white hat on. Very sorry to read this, I know he had a heart attack some years back then started running marathons. As I recall, Bill Reichle then a competitor of Toms (Pinellas Adjustments Bureau) came in and ran his office while he recovered from his heart attack. I always thought this was a class act on Bill’s part for helping Tom when he needed it. Here is a link to Tom’s obituary which more thoroughly details his life and service to his country as well as the community he lived in.
