Ed joined Tutwiler & Associates in 2005 as a fully licensed all lines public adjuster in Florida. He is also licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas and is a WIND Certified Appraiser®. Ed is a member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA), the Windstorm Insurance Network, Property & Casualty Claims Professionals (PCCP) and the American Legion. Some of the key insurance damage claims Ed adjusts includes: hurricane, wind, hail, fire, explosion, water damage (including plumbing leaks), theft/vandalism, collapse, business interruption and other losses under property insurance contracts. When asked what he enjoys most about being a public adjuster, Ed commented “It is the good feeling you get in knowing you have helped families and businesses that really needed your help during a difficult time.”
Originally hailing from Richmond, VA, Ed has resided in Florida for the last 31 years. He is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, earning a degree in International Studies with a minor in Economics. After a tour in the U.S. Air Force, Ed attended the Travelers Insurance Company Casualty-Property Claims Training Course in Richmond and worked as a casualty-property adjuster for Travelers in Tampa, FL. In 1975 he joined the firm of Crawford and Company in Tampa as an all lines independent adjuster where he served for over 30 years as an adjuster and supervisor handling complex litigated cases. Ed has attended numerous insurance industry continuing education courses and holds both the Associate in Claims (AIC) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations from the Insurance Institute of America. Ed completed a tour of duty in the Air Force Reserves at Headquarters, U.S. Special Operations Command in September 2005 and after 35 years of service, retired from the Air Force Reserves.
In his spare time Ed likes to spend time with his grandchildren, work in his shop, fish, golf and attend antique automobile shows.
