After gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience with insurance claims, Kevin left State Farm to establish his own business. He built a very successful restoration company from the ground-up, specializing in emergency water mitigation, mold remediation and other water and fire related claims. Kevin obtained various professional designations including Water Restoration Technician (WRT), Advanced Structural Drying (ASD) and Certified Mold Remediator (CMR). Notably, Kevin’s company assisted hundreds of homeowners and business owners with their insurance claims resulting from the 2004-2005 hurricanes that impacted Florida. Throughout his career, Kevin has kept focused on helping policyholders and their families. He prides himself in going the "extra-mile" to assist the property owner after their loss. He is extremely passionate about utilizing both his adjusting and restoration skills and expertise to help policyholders recover from their damages and life-changing events that devastate people’s livelihoods and property.
Since joining Tutwiler and Associates, Kevin has used his investigative skills to figure out where claims have gone wrong, especially those relating to the managed repair programs where contractors have attempted to restore properties, but failed in areas such as simply pulling permits to start a job or laying down new wood floors over a moldy subfloor that was not properly remediated. Kevin has also dissected massive emergency services bills where the contractors used the very controversial Assignment of Benefits contracts to get paid. In one case, he found that the contractor submitted a bill for work they never performed. This line of work is very satisfying for Kevin as he keeps people honest and helps consumers during their time of need.
Kevin calls himself a "military brat" who has lived across the United States, as well as Europe. His father served as a member of the Department of Defense after a tour in Vietnam with the United States Army. In his spare time, Kevin is very active in his church. He has served as the leader of his church's local homeless mission for the past ten years. The mission provides weekly hot meals, clothing and other personal items to the needy families in his community. He also enjoys spending time with his three favorite girls (his wife and two daughters), golfing, collecting classic cars and attending car shows.
