On October 24, 2005, Hurricane Wilma caused widespread flooding throughout the lower Florida Keys, including all of Key West lasting a few hours. During this time, a beautiful Italian mansion spread over many acres of land including a guest cottage became inundated by 5 feet of water causing major damage. After many months of delay with the insurance carrier, the insured hired Rick Tutwiler who was able to assist with the claim. Shortly thereafter, the insured was presented a check for the building and its contents in the amount of $241,666.78 for the main house and a check in the amount of $88,136.72 for the cottage. Moreover, Mr. Tutwiler's skill in negotiating scope and damage helped to recover additional money to reach policy limits for both the main house and the cottage. This resulted in an additional $127,596.50 for the client!
