The Holiday Inn Express located on N. Atlantic Blvd. in Daytona Beach, FL was another hotel owned by our client that was damaged in the October 7th hurricane. While each of the hotel losses we handled were damaged by the hurricane, depending on the wind and water impact, the damages were often different. Thus, it required a thorough inspection of the building including a room-by-room inspection and testing to determine the full scope of repairs required. After a considerable amount of work, including bringing in experts to help with the assessment of damages related to the hurricane, we were able to assemble a loss and damage package to support the demand for payment. The final payment to our client far exceeded the original offer made by the adjusters working for the insurance company. In the end, a fair settlement and satisfied client.

When Hurricane Matthew worked its way north in the Atlantic barely off of the east coast of Florida in September of 2016, many homes and businesses were damaged by wind, rain and flood waters. In a catastrophic event, many homeowners are not provided with an in-depth investigation by their insurance company claims adjuster. Instead, the insurance company adjusters jump from home to home missing many critical and costly damages. As such, the actual scope of loss and damages is not effectively addressed leaving homeowners with nowhere near the funds they will need to pay for the repairs necessary to restore their home to its former beauty. In fact, there are frequently times that major structural damages and costly items such as building code upgrades go unaddressed. Such is the case with this homeowner in the Daytona area. After realizing they would not have enough money to repair their home and more importantly that their home was unsafe to live in due to structural damages to the roof, the homeowner retained the services of public adjuster Mike Stabile. He quickly identified damages supposedly missed by the insurance company adjuster and resubmitted the claim. Through Mike’s diligence, attention to detail and negotiation skills, he was able to recover all the funds necessary for the homeowner to fully restore their home.
